Chezy Nir served as Principal Horn of the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion and the in-house orchestra of the New Israeli Opera between 1998-2014. As a soloist he has performed with most of Israel’s leading orchestras. In recitals or as a soloist he has performed internationally, as well, as with the orchestra of the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. He is a founding member of the New Israel Woodwind Quintet, and is a much in demand Professor at the Buchman – Mehta Academy of Music at the University of Tel Aviv and the Jerusalem Music Academy. Nir has participated in festivals such as the International Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, the Red Sea Festival,the Davos Festival, Rolandsecker Sommerkursen, the Rolandseck Festival, the festival of Salon de Provence, Gstaadt, Kaposvar and Kfar Blum.
He has collaborated with artists such as Yefim Bronfman, Shmuel Ashkenazy, Chaim Taub, Franklin Cohen, the Jerusalem Quartet, the Doric String Quartet and members of the Berlin Philharmonic. He was personally invited by Maesto Daniel Barenboim to tour with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra numerous times.
Chezy Nir studied with Meir Rimon at the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel Aviv, and with Marie-Luise Neunecker at the Frankfurt Musikhochschule in Germany.
